The Clayton Area Historical Association acquired The Idaho Mining and Smelter Company Store which was in a state of disrepair.
Through the hard work of some committed individuals the structure has been completely renovated as a museum and been added to the National Register Of Historic Places.
The association is currently seeking funding to restore the livery and blacksmith shop which was also built by The Idaho Mining and Smelter Company. This structure burned down in the 1940’s. |

| These are reconstruction pictures that took place between 2006 and 2007. The building desperately needed a foundation under it. It was jacked up and lazer leveled by Lemon's House Moving. They also added the glue lam beam to salvage the original structure. The concrete foundation, which is 14 inchs thick was created by Rob Dunham Construction- a local cement contractor. If you look at the finished product you can perhaps appreciate the efforts that we made in restoring this historic structure. |
