The East Fork of the Salmon River near Clayton was settled by the Baker family who still own much of the Ranch land along the River. Locally it was often referred to as the Baker Fork. The first road was cut along the East Fork by a one of the Bakers. The original horse drawn grader is at the museum. Our board still has members of Baker family. Deep roots.
